We fight for love
We fight for happiness
We fight to be valued
We fight for truth
We fight for respect
We fight for justice
We fight for fairness
We fight for peace
We fight with so much heart and assume that there's gratitude or maybe some reciprocity in what we fight so passionately for. Sometimes, we just can't understand why these heart-driven moves don't seem to be well-received or don't appear to be appreciated. There are moments when we wonder if the fight is worth it, right?
In the beauty of this early Sunday afternoon, as I'm trying to wrap my head around this fight thing, wondering if I'm choosing "petty"🤦🏾♀️, gospel music is still playing in the living room. It has been beautifully and soulfully permeating the walls of our house since late morning. Walking back into the living room, I paused and smiled when I heard a particular song. Why? Because I knew God was speaking. I knew, without any doubt, that He was reminding me regarding the 'something' that had been weighing heavily on my heart and mind since yesterday evening. My prayer each day is that God speaks in any way, and I know that He spoke to me (again) through these lyrics...
"Eyes haven't seen
Ears haven't heard
There is so much more
Still worth fighting for..."
(Worth Fighting For by Brian Courtney Wilson)
So, keep believing in God's promises. Keep fighting for the things that are worth fighting for. There's so much more. Keep living with "the more" in mind. 🙌🏾
Father God, I thank You for the reminder today. Thank You for loving me so much, and for always being concerned about all of me. Thank You for lifting the heaviness of my heart. Thank You for giving me a platform to encourage hearts, all while continuing to heal and grow in You. There is so much more that I need to do. Thank You for this never-perfect, but prayerful life. Thank You for a praying husband, who lifts every situation in prayer to You--with or without details. God, I love You and give You praise and thanks. Amen.
