Bertie County History, Black History... We Embrace it. We should be Educated about it, Empowered because of it, and Encouraged to honor it ----365 days a year!! So, in honor of the individuals who entrusted me to tell their story via the "I Am Bertie Black History" series, their powerful interviews and more are now in paperback print. 🙌🏾 One of my greatest joys has been completing this project and I'm so grateful to God for it. Revisiting their stories confirmed why these interviews are still being read all over the world.

I am forever proud of these amazing honorees from my home county: Rick Brandon, William "DD" Hoggard, John B. Holley, Vershenia Ballance Johnson, Thomas E. & Sharon Bridgett Lee, Jackie Lyons-White , Kim Rascoe , Constance Richardson, Tonza D. Ruffin, and Otis Smallwood. I hope this books brings them more love and appreciation for their historic contributions! I pray that this is the first of many more people to highlight. 🙏🏽💙🤍
