Decision To Decide?

Updated: Aug 20

Decisions. They're made every waking moment of each day. From the immediate responsive action when we awake, to whether we act on impulse or ponder extendedly, we choose something.

Technically, there are times when it becomes a decision to decide what to do; how to do it; when to do it; or if we should do it. Those situations require so much thought and have to be carried out with an extra push; with more intentionality. Nevertheless, decisions are imperative to life, however, we often take them for granted. Many of us have found that contemplating the potential results of them sometimes gets "lost in the sauce." It is only when we're later "circling in the sauce" that we remember, Wow, I really should have considered the outcome. Yes, it is a blessing to be able to decide, and it is wise to pray for discernment before a decision is made. We are ALL accountable for our own...DECISIONS!

Why is this in my spirit today? I am reflecting. Years ago, when telling my Daddy about a life-changing decision I made, he reminded me that I was raised to make 'good' decisions, and if this was what I decided, he knew it was a 'good' one or the best one, given the situation. Wow...Little did he know how many bad decisions his baby girl had made over the years 😫, but he trusted in how he and my mom raised me. That still gives me comfort today and I share those same sentiments with my daughter. Thankfully, I have grown to a place where I have accepted accountability for the decisions that I've made and I pray intensely about those, big and small, that I'm faced with daily. I'm sure there will be some good and certainly some that are not so good, however, they are mine to relish in or recover from. I am not afraid to decide! Well, not anymore...😊

...and remember, there is sweet peace when we decide to completely surrender (the decision) to God. 🙌🏾 Decide to go to Him; Decide to trust Him; Decide to walk in obedience; Decide to have faith in the One who makes no bad decisions---never has; never will! No, the surrender doesn't come innately...we have to make a decision to decide. Maybe today is a day that we decide to make that decision...about something...🙏🏽💛

Decide to learn, live, love, listen, laugh, let go, to be loyal (to those who deserve it), "lean not on your own understanding"--Proverbs 3:5, and be luminous in letting the light of God in us shine for others to see.

My Decision to Decide leaves no room to blame, accuse or it's not my fault. I can on only point the finger at me. Thank you...
