An Everyday Easter Life

As we celebrate on this Easter Sunday, remembering The Risen Christ, we will reflect on the Easter story. The beautiful story, that some of us "shelf" until this time of year, is about sacrifice and death that occurred in order for us to have life--- Not a life filled with the best of material things, but a life of freedom and abundance--free to love and intimately experience the essence of God.

In this season of so much uncertainty; so much want; so much envy; so much hope and hopelessness; so many aspirations; so many dreams to be different, to look different, to act different, to live different, let's all be reminded that we, too, have to "die" to something (to live). It could be that we need to die to greed; to jealousy; to addiction; to adultery; to lust; to covetousness; to gossip; to betrayal; to judgement; to fear; to excessive anything that is blocking our path to just live free. I certainly have much work to do. The focus is on l-i-v-i-n-g!

Think about those things that we know, without a doubt, that we have to "die" to. Start a specific prayer to make sure that our purpose is clear, and aligned with severing these bullseye targets. It may start with chopping, but there needs to be some slicing that leads to the big cut. The figurative blade should be sharp and pointed directly to those strongholds. Yes, strongholds. What are they? For me, they are those things that keep us from being in an intimate relationship with God. They're those things that serve to block the entrance to our intended arrival destination, Heaven. They are toxic, tainted, dangerous, and destructive, so cut them and remove the airflow. That way, they die, but we won't suffer or experience an extra death---one while we are here on Earth, living as the walking-dead. Bury the "things" and let's fully live while we have a chance. It's about a decision to live "An Everyday Easter Life" a little better each day.

Thank you, Father God, for the ultimate sacrifice of your Son at The Cross, having His blood shed so that we were free and forgiven of sin, and able to live in divine peace and love through faith...Not because of who we are, but solely because of who You are. Help us to remember daily, the cost and the price paid in order for your children to experience the beauty of your infinite love through living. Help us to "die" to those things that don't lead us closer to you. Amen.

Happy Easter 2022. Glory to The Risen Christ.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

~ 1 Corinthians 1:18
