~I prayed a prayer similar to the one below, when I embarked on the possibility of exploring a new relationship purposed for love. In an early bold move, I read it to him. Months later, we are still getting acquainted, learning more about each other every day. In that, the relationship continues to grow and blossom, so I certainly see the ‘fruits’ of praying sooner rather than starting later…
Dear Heavenly Father, As I wake on this beautiful morning, I thank you for awaking me to all of the trimmings of this life, and on this particular day, I also thank you for the prospect of new love. I don’t know where this relationship is going, but I thank you for putting this person (of God) before me. I thank you for the conversations that we have; for giving us the opportunity to get to know each other in a special way. Lord, I ask that whatever this ‘it’ thing is, that you give it divine pace, allowing us to share honestly— starting out and continuing with openness and authenticity. Keep us focused on your love, and your Word, so that this relationship has You as the foundation. Father, I know that if we do this, no matter what the outcome is, we will have found a lifelong friendship with each other. Lord, Both of us have been praying for the right person to be in relationship with! I ask that you honor our prayers to find that person who can love us in such a way, that it inspires us to serve and honor you like never before. Protect us in the process and beyond. Guard our hearts, our minds, and our spirit. Give us continued peace in knowing that you already know the plan for us. Let us continue to seek you for all things. Go with us, guide us, bless us, and move in a way that only you can. We give you the glory, the honor, and the praise, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
