Sometimes, simply having a kind heart, desiring to love fully and freely is misconstrued as toxicity or being "extra." That well-intentioned heart gets trampled on repeatedly, and the enemy takes every open opportunity to do so. The resulting hurtful emotional scars and bruises will have you temporarily feeling that a kind heart is only a precursor for emotional distress, unwarranted pain, being taken advantage of, used and abused---all leading to seemingly reasons to be unkind, but don't get lost in the sauce! Kind hearts mend; Kind hearts matter. 💕
Although I certainly know how to, and sometimes, "flip the script", my parents raised me to be kind and rooted in faith. In that, I make no apologies for loving kindly and authentically. It starts and continues with loving God, who wants us to love in a space where kindness also resides. That kindness doesn't live in my head, it lives in my heart.
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
~Proverbs 4:23
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
~Galatians 6:9
