Significant September

There is something so light and airy and spiritual about the month of September. Maybe it’s the seasonal change from Summer that serves as a precursor to Fall. Maybe it’s because the “Dog Days of Summer” have reached their peak of perspiring our minds and leaving a musty  smell in our hearts. Therefore, our spirits need to be deodorized and refreshed so that the  windows of our soul can be opened, letting in the cool crisp thoughts of new air.

September was a time in which I traveled to Wilmington, NC for a conference each year. It was something about those trips…the drive down Hwy 40 or maybe even the stops in Rose Hill, that made me dig deep into my soul about what was going on in my life, who I was, who I needed to become and who probably wasn’t really necessary for my life’s journey.

The trip back home always resulted in uncomfortable conversations that were thought-filled, often spirited, provoking unrest and the inevitable cycle of mixed-emotions.  There was mostly fear of the unknown, because there was no detailed roadmap to my path.  Things seemed so uncertain and unclear!  That myriad of complex emotions is one of the reasons why it has taken me years to understand the correlation between the changing of the seasons and the renewing of the mind. The bible states, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  Romans 12:2

When God blesses you to take in the September atmosphere, take a moment to reflect and Seek Him for guidance, as He is the ultimate compass that will lead to a Change in direction or a simple lane Change that will put you on the right road. Change works ONLY if it is Christ driven and navigated using a Godly GPS.

Peace & Blessings,

Lisa B.
